Detailed Product Description
Travertine is a Calcareous stone, composed mainly of Calcium Carbonate sedimentary rock (Calcite). Hot springs water carrying Calcium Carbonate solutions precipitate calcium carbonate on the surface under atmospheric conditions. The form of deposition, thickness, dip, and direction of travertine depend on the Pleotographic surface at the time of precipitation.
Small Vugs that make travertine unique result from CO2 bubbles that appear during precipitation. Colors of travertine depend on the nature and type of the rock along which hot springs water goes through.
